Eva is of Greek-Egyptian background and has been studying danse-orientale for 15 years. Her teacher Belyssa, invited Eva to perform with the “Flames of Araby” dance troupe in 1992.

Eva moved to Kalgoorlie in 1993 where she started teaching and soon formed Kalgoorlie 's first belly-dance troupe “The Jewels of the Desert”. The Jewels were, and still are, a great draw-card in performing at functions in and around the Goldfields.

Eva returned to Perth in 1996 and became a member of Belyssa's professional troupe “Desert Fire”. Eva was presented the Belyssa Academy Excellence Award in 1992, the Professional Development Award in 1993, Teachers Achievement Certificate and shared the Bellydancer of the Year Award in 1997.
