Tamalyn began belly dancing as a teenager in 1976. In 1990 she founded the Mid Eastern Dance Exchange, a nonprofit arts organization in Miami Beach, Florida, where for the past 14 years she has worked as an instructor, performer, chorographer and producer of many major live dance shows, including the annual Orientalia festival.

Ms Dallal was one of the original “Bellydance Superstars” on the CD and DVD from Ark 21 Records. She was named Ms.America of Belly Dance and Miss World of Belly Dance in 1995. She has performed for such celebrities and dignitaries as Robert De Niro, Madonna, James Brown, The Jacksons, Sean Connery, King Abdullah of Jordan, the Saudi royal family and President Flores of El Salvador. Her career has taken her to more than 30 countries. In 2004 she turned over the directorship of the Mid Eastern Dance Exchange in order to spend more time travelling to teach workshops, perform, and research dances.
