Khaled Mahmoud
Khaled started dancing in Cairo many years ago when he was just seven years old at parties and weddings, his father thought he was very artistic so he sent him to study Ballet for six years.
He went on to College to study accounts, so no time for dancing. When he finished College and working in a factory, he danced with a group for four years dancing Egyptian style. It was during this time he took Belly Dancing lessons with Abrahim Akef and many master teachers in Cairo, then Khaled became a Belly Dancing teacher himself for six years at the Maade Club and also worked on M/S Alexander the Great Cruise Boat in the evenings.
He likes the style of the old Belly Dancers Naima Akif, Tahia Carioca, Samia Gamal and all new style dancers.
Since arriving in England in 2001 he has held workshops and performed in shows all over the UK and in 2002 launched his International career at the Belly Dance Festival in Sweden. He now travels the world teaching and performing.
He is also part of the Nile Group in Cairo and Naseem El Sharq in Finland. Here in England he organizes the Egyptian Moonlight Workshops and Show yearly.

Ayesha
Ayesha has been performing and teaching for 15 years and is the co-director with Eva at Sheik to Sheik in Beaconsfield.
Early in 2004 she met and did workshops with Paulette Rees-Denis, the director of Gypsy Caravan in Portland, Oregon. She was immediately attracted to this less disciplined form of tribal dance and organized for Paulette to give a workshop at Sheik to Sheik for Ayesha's students.
The girls have been studying and performing Gypsy Tribal ever since - they never went back to bellydance! We then formed our own tribe, Free Spirit Gypsy Tribal, which gave them the freedom to fuse several different styles.
Ayesha has continued her training with Sue Erokan, Carolena Nerrechio, and Rachel Brice; and in early 2006 she became a qualified Gypsy Caravan Level 1 teacher in a three day intensive teacher training course in Melbourne with Paulette.
Ayesha feels that this dance has great potential to expand boundaries and creativity as it is not a teacher and students situation as in normal bellydance classes, but the students take a very active role in producing the end product which means they have ownership of the dance and it is an organic experience. |

Gypsy Tribal Choreography with Ayesha
- We will look at formations, sacred geometry, duet dancing and putting this into a choreography. While strict ATS style bellydance is all improv when we start looking at other styles, namely, Gypsy Caravan then we find that choreography is acceptable as long as certain guidelines are followed and the integrity of the dance is maintained.
